Artist Juan Uslé (Santander, 1954) kicks off the new programmatic line Bombas Artist Talks with a public conversation, with Sandra Guimarães, around his monographic exhibition at Bombas Gens Centre d’Art, “Ojo y paisaje” (“Eye and Landscape”). The exhibition, which covers more than thirty years of his work, can be visited until September 26. The exhibition arises from the study of the artist’s works belonging to the Per Amor a l’Art Collection and presents a selection that includes works from the late eighties to the last ten years, with his most intimate works.
Juan Uslé was awarded in 2002 with the National Prize of Plastic Arts of the Ministry of Culture. With more than thirty years of artistic career, he has had numerous exhibitions in institutions such as the Museu Serralves (Oporto), Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig (Vienna), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid) or The New Museum of Contemporary Art (New York), among others.
Bombas Artist Talks is a new programmatic line of Bombas Gens Centre d’Art that invites contemporary artists represented in the Per Amor a l’Art Collection -either in its exhibitions or its artistic programme- to give lectures, talks or other informal presentations focused on their work. This cycle arises from Bombas Gens Centre d’Art’s mission to deepen the artists’ approach and to promote, through unique encounters, new ideas and discourses from different disciplines and generations.
