PROCESSES are meetings in first person, in which the artists will share their experiences, imaginaries, research and references.

In the framework of the exhibition opening “Sheela Gowda. Remains”, we propose a conversation with the artist herself and the curators, Nuria Enguita and Lucia Aspesi.

 

Lucia Aspesi is Assistant Curator at Pirelli HangarBicocca, where she co-curated the exhibitions of Sheela Gowda and Daniel Steegmann Mangrané (both 2019). In her independent projects and researches, she has curated shows as: “Luce Movimento. Il cinema di Marinella Pirelli”at the Museo del Novecento Milan (2019); “Ben Rivers. Phantoms” at La Triennale di Milano (2017), and film programs at ICA – The Institute of Contemporary Arts, London and CCCB Xcèntric, Barcelona. She has contributed to magazines, like Mousse and MAY, and she has taken part of the recent publication Women Artists, Feminism and the Moving Image (Bloomsbury Academic, 2019).

 

Nuria Enguita is the director of Bombas Gens Centre d’Art in Valencia, editor of the journal Concreta and an exhibition curator. from 1991 to 1998 and then from 1998 to 2008 she was artistic director of Fundació Antoni Tàpies in Barcelona. She has been a curator at Manifesta 4 (Frankfurt, 2002), the Encuentro Internacional de Medellín (2011) and at the 31st Sao Paulo Biennial (2014). From 2000 to 2014 she was a member of the board of directors of the arteypensamiento programme at Universidad Internacional de Andalucía and from 2007 to 2014 she was co-editor of Afterall.
