“A journey through the film career of Luis García Berlanga”, this is how the exhibition “Berlanguiano. Luis García Berlanga (1921-2021)”. The exhibition, organised by the Film Academy, will be on show in our Bombas Gens space until 12 June. It is a tribute to the Valencian filmmaker made possible thanks to the collaboration of Fundació Per Amor A l’Art – Bombas Gens, Valencia City Council, Visit València, Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, València Turisme and the Ministry of Culture and Sport. The exhibition, curated by Esperanza García Claver, arrives at our art centre after passing through Madrid and Seville and coinciding with the great celebration of Spanish cinema: the Goya Awards. This third and final chapter of the exhibition features an increase in audiovisual content compared to previous editions.
The exhibition is made up of photographs, small and large format, audiovisual material, in which we can see fragments of his films and interviews, original scripts, posters and filming plans. The exhibition takes us on a journey through the director’s film career with titles such as “Bienvenido Mr Marshall”, “Plácido”, “El verdugo” and “Calabuch”. At the same time, moments of Spanish life portrayed by legendary national and international photographers who looked at and interpreted this native reality at the same time. It can be visited from Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 2pm and from 4pm to 7pm.
